Crochet Beads

I saw a picture of a beaded bead while looking for something on Google. When I saw it I thought it looked like crochet. Then I thought to myself; why can't I cover a bead in crochet? Apparently I can, because I have. A whole rainbow of crochet beads ready to make something with. After I crocheted them, I found where some one else had also thought of it. It's a cuter way of re-inventing the wheel, but I like them!

Mulberry Trees

Today I learned that the tree growing in front of my window (which I have been trying to kill for ages but just won't die) is a black mulberry. Black mulberries are a cultivated form of the mulberry tree, and are not wild fruit trees like other mulberries. They are rather rare in my state, so I had never seen a black mulberry before. Now that I know what it is it's no wonder I can't get rid of it; mulberry trees are almost impossible to kill. If it were anywhere else I would leave it alone, I don't like cutting down healthy trees, but it is so close to the house it's digging into the foundation. Since I now know it won't get any bigger root wise maybe I can figure out a way to live with the thing attacking my house. Now what I want to know is why the previous home owner thought it would be a good idea to plant the poor tree up against a wall. It certainly didn't put itself there.



See the poor thing? Why would you plant a tree like that? Yeah, you can pick the berries from the dining room, but still...

Blarrgg!

The google blog has been saving my posts as drafts instead of publishing them! That is not what I told it to do at all. What the heck?

In other news, there is cat pee all over the boys room (which I am trying to redo the walls in), it's been freezing cold (literally) for over a week, and someone ate all my chocolate. Whines...

Clematis

There are so many flowers blooming right now, even though it's been so cold the last little bit. Here's a Clematis Kanzashi I just finished. What do you think?

School junk.

I am two classes away from graduating. Two! Finding a college that teaches them during the summer proved to be a bit of a challenge though. I think I've got it squared away and everything works out with the school I signed up for. Last time I signed up for summer classes it was a nightmare and I never even took the class! Anybody else got a problem with summer classes?

Friday the Thirteenth

You know how Friday the Thirteenth is supposed to be an unlucky day? Well, the only bad luck I had was pricking my fingers making my latest Tsumami Kanzashi.



I have been told it looks rather steampunk-ish. What do you think?



I also made some mushroom jewelry. There are two charms and a set of earrings. They may look like poisonous mushrooms, but there super cute!

It's Easter!



Here comes the Easter bunny! At my house, the Easter comes while we are at church.



And Easter means treats, and eggs. Why not both at the same time? These lemonade cookies were fun to paint. Food color paint, that is^^



My new Easter jewelry set. I hadn't tried this kind of bead weaving before. What do you think?

Blog Anniversary

Today marks the first post of this blog. Of course, after the 'Google ate my blog' fiasco that doesn't mean that much. But hey, that's what I get for not keeping backups.
Here's a little something that also took me a year to make, just because I ran out of yarn and it took me that long to find some more. Perhaps I need back up yarn balls too?
